Nobel Prize goes to Geophysicist
Klaus Hasselmann is among this years Nobel Laureates in Physics. The price is awarded in part for work on climate modeling.

year's Nobel Prize in Physics goes to Klaus Hasselmann, Syukuro Manabe and Giorgio Parisi - in part for their work on physical models of the Earth's climate. Hasselmann was first a
professor and later director of the Institute of Geophysics and
Planetary Physics at the University of Hamburg. Subsequently he assumed management of the Max Planck Institute for
Meteorology in Hamburg from 1975 to 1999 and was Scientific
Director at the German Climate Computing Center in Hamburg from 1988 to
1999.
