IBM-KAUST workshop from 16.-21.9. at LMU

The Computational Seismology group of LMU is host for the joint IBM-KAUST workshop from 16.-21.9. The project aims to improve two codes (SORD based on Finite Differences and SeisSol - ADER-DG method) for dynamic rupture simulations with the help of IBM software engineers and make them accessible for users at the KAUST university.

The Computational Seismology group of LMU is host for the joint IBM-KAUST workshop from 16.-21.9. The project aims to improve two codes (SORD based on Finite Differences and SeisSol - ADER-DG method) for dynamic rupture simulations with the help of IBM software engineers and make them accessible for users at the KAUST university. During the workshop recent progress will be reported as well as defining future goals in the development. Finally, a Grand Challenge within the topic of earthquake source physics is planned to be tackled. Emerging Solutions Executive & Assoc. Program Director Dr. Kirk E. Jordan, IBM Watson, Prof. Dr. Martin Mai, KAUST, and Prof. Dr. Michael Bader, TUM, among others will attend the workshop and are available throughout the week.
