Abstract
losses W-RH are presented for dispersed and compacted elongated CrO2 single-domain particles used for recording media. The data are discussed in terms of the uniform Stoner-Wohlfarth (SW)- and of a curling-type magnetization reversal. Hysteresis data and Henkel plots are used to characterize the magnetization behaviour. It is found that WRH exhibits a notable difference to the behaviour of SW particles which is evidently due to the curling-type reversals and possibly in part to the action of multiple anisotropies.
