Major Research Areas:
Development and application of computational methods to simulate and invert seismic wave propagation. Earthquake scenario simulations and aspects of shaking hazard in seismically active regions. Full waveform inversion of seismograms for Earth’s structure. Global wave propagation, deep structure and related geodynamic issues.  Observations, theory and modelling of rotational ground motions with optical technologies and its application to structural inversion, source processes and earthquake engineering.
