Dr. Florian Lhuillier will work for the next two years as a member of the geomagnetism group on the following topic: Do multiple geodynamo regimes exist? Exploration from numerical simulations, observatory and palaeomagnetic data.

Christian Pelties wins "Outstanding Student Paper Award" at the AGU Meeting 2011
At the 2011 Fall Meeting of the American Geophysical Union (AGU) Christian Pleties presented a poster on Three-Dimensional Dynamic Rupture Simulation with a High-order Discontinuous Galerkin Method on Unstructured Tetrahedral Meshes.
For his presentation he received an Outstanding Student Paper Award.
Mr Pelties is a member of the Computational Seismology Group at Munich Geophysics.

TETHYS: End-of-Lifetime
After six years of operation the Tectonic High-Performance Simulator (TETHYS), Munich Geophysics' HPC cluster,
has reached the end of its lifetime and will be decommissioned. The final shutdown is planned for Monday 2 April 2012.
